When adding a source, under What to sync choose Select what to sync instead of Sync everything, then check exactly what you want. For Slack the options are Every channel the app is in or Only channels I pick. The checkboxes nest both ways:
  • Checking a folder includes everything inside it, including content added later.
  • You can uncheck a specific subfolder or file inside a checked folder to leave it out.
  • You can also check a specific child inside an unchecked folder to bring just that item in.
Sync everything indexes the whole source, including content added later. Select what to sync indexes only what you check — new content appears only if it lands inside something you checked.

Changing the selection later

Open the source, go to its files, and use Edit to adjust the selection, then Save. Changes apply on the next sync: newly included content is indexed, and newly excluded content is removed from search. If a sync cannot finish applying a scope change, everything stays searchable and the rest is applied on the following sync.
