# Why does the agent keep getting signed out of a website?

The agent browser saves sign-ins to a browser profile at the end of each turn, and the next task starts signed in. If it starts signed out, or keeps asking you to sign in, one of these is usually why.

| Cause | Fix |
| - | - |
| The chat is incognito | Incognito chats never save or restore sign-ins. Use a normal chat |
| Someone else ran the agent | With the default **User-owned** profile, each person has their own sign-ins. Each person signs in once, or the agent owner switches **Browser profile** to **Agent-owned** so everyone shares one |
| The site's session expired | [Give the agent a login](/core-concepts/browser_logins_and_profiles#how-do-i-give-an-agent-a-login) so it can sign back in on its own |
| You imported cookies, but it's still signed out | Check you imported into the profile shown under **Browser profile** on the agent. Some sites keep sessions in data an import doesn't copy, so give the agent a login instead |
| The agent says it can't type your login on this page | The login form is on a different address than the saved login allows. Edit the login and set **Type the password on** to **Any page of this site** |
| The site asks for an SMS or email code every time | The agent can't receive those codes, so it hands you the browser. For authenticator-app codes, add the **Authenticator key** to the login |

<Tip>
  When you sign in during a handoff, tick **Save login for \<site>** before you click **Continue**. The agent can then sign in by itself next time.
</Tip>

For profiles, logins, importing sign-ins, and 1Password, see [Browser logins and profiles](/core-concepts/browser_logins_and_profiles).
